Positive Support Services are provided to individuals who require behavioral supports in order to maintain stability, safety, and independence in the community while receiving services in the least restrictive environment. Services include the development, implementation, and ongoing monitoring of individualized, person-centered support strategies designed to reduce and prevent challenging behaviors and increase adaptive and functional skills.
Our team of qualified professionals conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) to identify the biological, psychological, social and environmental factors that contribute to the function of the interfering behavior. Information gathered during the assessment process incorporates the individual’s strengths, preferences, abilities, and support needs. Based on the assessment findings, a Positive Support Plan (PSP) is developed that outlines proactive strategies, skill-building interventions, and desired alternative behaviors. The plan is designed to promote positive behavioral outcomes, enhance quality of life, and support the individual’s ability to live and participate successfully in their community.
Positive support staff provide training, consultation, and ongoing support to direct support professionals, caregivers, and other members of the individual’s support team to ensure consistent and effective implementation of the support plan.
